Kate White
Chief Medical Advisor
Kate is the Chair of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department and an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine (BUCASM), and the associate program director of the Boston Medical Center (BMC) Fellowship in Complex Family Planning. Kate is an active clinician-scientist who has had independent research funding for the past 15 years. She is the site PI for the NICHD Contraceptive Clinical Trials Network and participates in the design and execution of trials of new contraceptive methods. Kate has been the PI on randomized clinical trials, cohort studies and cross-sectional surveys, and has overseen all aspects of these trials from protocol development and creation of instruments, to data cleaning, analysis, and dissemination of results. She frequently lectures locally and nationally on a number of topics related to reproductive health, including IUDs, emergency contraception, and new contraceptive methods. Kate is also the author of Your Sexual Health and Your Guide to Miscarriage and Pregnancy Loss, both published by Mayo Clinic Press. Kate is a board certified OB/GYN, completed her Fellowship in Complex Family Planning and received a Masters of Public Health Degree at Columbia University, and completed her residency in OB/GYN at Baystate Medical Center/Tufts University School of Medicine.
