Kelly Treder, MD, MPH

Kelly Treder is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist with a subspecialty in Complex Family Planning. Kelly completed their undergraduate studies at Columbia University, medical school and Master’s in Public Health at the University of Washington, and Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Northwestern University. She subsequently completed a subspecialty fellowship in Complex Family Planning at Boston University. She is the Director of Family Planning Research at Boston Medical Center/Boston University and a Co-Investigator for the NIH Contraceptive Clinical Trials Network (CCTN) where she oversees the Boston Medical Center site for multiple ongoing clinical trials developing novel contraceptive methods. Her other research projects include mixed methods studies and qualitative studies. Her research publications include quantitative and qualitative studies spanning contraception, abortion training and education, racism in reproductive health care, and maternal mortality. Kelly is also a practicing gynecologic surgeon, performing regularly both major and minor surgeries including hysteroscopies, myomectomies, and hysterectomies.
